DAY 2 Addis Ababa

Step back in time, beginning with a full-day tour of this fascinating city. Head to the top of Mount Entoto for a spectacular view of the city, then on to the Orthodox Trinity Cathedral and the Mercato, the largest market in all of Africa. The highlight of today’s in-depth tour will be the National Museum, to view an exciting new discovery. Paleontologists have uncovered our ancestor, Ardi (Ardipithecus ramdu) who shows an unexpected mix of advanced characteristics and primitive traits. She was walking upright more than 4.4 million years ago – 1.2 million years before the iconic Lucy. A special night has been planned at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant, complete with the swirling sounds of local music, and maybe even some dancing.
