Full Itinerary

Please note: This safari begins at Maun Airport in Botswana and ends at Victoria Falls Airport in Zimbabwe.

DAY 1 & 2 Maun To Okavango Delta

Upon arrival in Maun, the &Beyond host will welcome you and assist you to your light aircraft flight to Nxabega Airstrip. A safari vehicle will be waiting to take you to the campsite, located in a private concession. Tucked under massive trees, this campsite is situated in an area with a number of permanent river channels.
Explore the crystal-clear lagoons and waterways of the Okavango Delta by mokoro (dug-out canoe), and enjoy game-viewing walks on the islands. Spend two nights at our campsite in a private concession area with dedicated camp staff to cater for your needs. Awaken each morning to a chorus of birds or the chattering of monkeys, and linger in the comfort of your fully-sized bed as you listen to the sounds of your hot bucket shower being filled with steaming hot water.

Private Mobile Camp (Dinner)

DAY 3 & 4 Moremi Wildlife Reserve

A short flight in a light aircraft takes you to Khwai in the Moremi Game Reserve. Covering approximately a third of the Okavango Delta, the Moremi combines permanent waterways with drier areas, creating a reserve filled with unexpected contrasts and diverse wildlife. Its riverine forests, tall mopane woodlands and spreading floodplains fringed with majestic palms make it one of Africa’s most scenic wildlife areas.
The combination of habitats makes Moremi the ideal place for your expedition. There is typical savannah game viewing, leisurely cruises along lagoons and channels, and rich bird watching. Spend two nights camping in the Reserve, with extensive and interpretive game drives taking up your days.

Private Mobile Camp (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 5 & 6 Chobe National Park – Savute

A long game drive (5 – 6 hours) takes you to Savute in the Chobe National Park, where you will spend two nights camping next to the dry Savute Channel in an area renowned for sightings of lion and other predators.
The landscape around Savute is starkly beautiful, with an arid, almost desert-like feel. Mopane forest gives way to acacia savannah with rocky outcrops. Large areas of marshland that extended from the Linyanti River have dried up, along with the Savute River, but several artificial watering holes attract a high concentration of wildlife.

Private Mobile Camp (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 7 & 8 Chobe National Park – Serondela

Travel to northern Chobe (4 – 5 hours overland game drive), where you will camp for two nights in the Serondela area. This is the heart of elephant country and you may spend many hours watching the huge herds in and around the Chobe River on game drives or private boat cruises. Northern Chobe is renowned for its large variety of bird and animal life, beautiful scenery and magnificent sunsets.

Private Mobile Camp (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 9 Victoria Falls

A short drive to takes you to Victoria Falls, and depending on the time of the year, you will travel to either the Zimbabwe side or the Zambia side. Take a morning and afternoon game drive to search for the area’s abundant wildlife. Later in the afternoon, embark on a sundowner river cruise as the day draws to a wonderful close.

&Beyond Matesi Water Lodge (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 10 Victoria Falls

After a leisurely breakfast, visit magnificent Victoria Falls. Morning is the best time to catch a glimpse of the rainbows that forever crown one of the great wonders of the natural world.
Born Free has added a day to the regular &Beyond Safari, as we feel this area is well worth the two days and feel you will appreciate the second day of relaxation before heading home.
We highly recommend taking the optional low level flights to really get the full impact of the area. Helicopter and fixed wing flight seeing are available. Other great optional activities include white water rafting and elephant back safari.

DAY 11 Your Journey Onwards

Don’t forget to do some last-minute shopping at one of the best craft markets in Africa before you leave. Late morning transfer to the Victoria Falls Airport for your return flight to Johannesburg, or your continuing flight onwards.
