Victoria Falls

DAY 1 Cape Town

Touch down in Cape Town, where wonderful sights, sounds and gourmet foods await you on this deluxe trip. You are greeted at the airport and head out to the romantic Tintswalo Atlantic. This magnificent, intimate inn is a perfect place to unwind from your flight and start your South Africa sojourn. Located in one of the most stunning locations in Southern Africa, between Cape Town city and Cape Point, it is an excellent location for exploring the Cape area and wine country. The Tintswalo Atlantic is set at the water’s edge at the base of Chapman’s Peak, and the rooms overlook dramatic Hout Bay. Culinary creations are served on outside patio or the charming dining room, and the food is nothing less than extraordinary.

DAY 2 Cape Peninsula

Relax over a delicious breakfast before taking off on a coastal drive to Cape Peninsula. This is considered by many as one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world. Stop at Cape Point, which for may years was believed to be the meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans; actually it is a short distance north. Continue with your private guide through colorful fishing villages. Stop as you please at antique shops, art galleries, or for a cappuccino at one of the seaside cafes. Later, stop to see the breeding colony of African jackass penguins.

DAY 3 Wine Country

Your driver will pick you up after breakfast for a full day of touring through historic South African wine country. Although the area is known for wine, there is so much more than just that. There are wonderful little towns, art galleries, magnificent scenery and architecture. Take the time to walk through the historic Cape Dutch towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. And of course, wine will not be forgotten – stops will be made for premium tasting experiences of wine, cheeses and even chocolate! Late this afternoon, arrive in Cape Town at your waterfront city hotel. Tonight, try one of the excellent wharf restaurants or the outstanding Signal Restaurant, located at the hotel. Cape Grace has a charming bar and excellent spa.

DAY 4 Cape Town

Today you are on your own to explore the town. Most sights are in an easy walk or short drive from the hotel. If you prefer, a driver and guide can be arranged. Suggested touring includes Table Mountain, Robben Island, South African Museum, and Cape Malay Quarter.

DAY 5 – 7 Sabi Sands Game Reserve

Rise early this morning for your flight to the Sabi Sand area. Set on the banks of the Sand River, Mala Mala Rattrray Game Lodge is one of the world’s top-rated properties, and affords guests the ultimate in comfort. Each spacious cottage is decorated in an African motif and all amenities are provided to ensure a comfortable stay. A professional ranger and Shangaan tracker lead game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles. On exciting evening game drives, you’ll search for nocturnal species such as bush babies, genet and the elusive leopard.

DAY 8 Johannesburg

After an early morning game drive, fly to Johannesburg for a night at the beautiful Westcliff Hotel. Set on a cliffside in a garden estate, The Westcliff has an almost rural air despite being in the city center. Its swimming pool and private terraces look out over the adjacent gardens and lush hillside.

DAY 9 & 10 Victoria Falls

Board an early flight to one of the seven natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls. Accommodations will be at the amazing new Elephant Camp. The property enjoys breathtaking views of the gorges which separate Zimbabwe and Zambia. There are 9 huge, luxury tented suites, each with private viewing deck, lounge and plunge pool. The feeling is that of being an honored guest in a private estate. A family of elephants that have made the property their home and there is a waterhole where you can sit and watch the elephants play as the sun sets.

A guided walking tour takes you through the rainforest, stopping at the best vantage points: Devil’s Cataract, Eastern Cataract, Horseshoe and Rainbow Falls. As the sun sets this evening, take a cruise on the Zambezi River.

A highly recommended option is the ‘Flight of the Angels’, an exhilarating low-level flight-seeing tour of the falls with unparalleled views of the area.

DAY 11 Your Journey Onwards

After a leisurely breakfast, bid farewell to Africa before heading out to the airport for your onward flight.
