Extraordinary India

Northern Region of Rajasthan

12 Days/11 Nights

Journey to India's northern region, which is bordered by the snow-capped Himalayas. Tucked away in the northwest corner is Rajasthan, India’s largest state. Immerse yourself in a rich tapestry of the grandest of the subcontinent's sites, sounds and vibrant cultures. It is a land of stark contrasts from opulent temples, hotels and architecture to heart-wrenching poverty.

As you travel through Rajasthan, you will see a microcosm of historic forts, grand palaces and temples. Extraordinary India journeys to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal where you can see the stunning changes to the scenery at sunrise and sunset. Visit the major cities including Jaipur and Udaipur, which boast more impressive forts and palaces. Take a boat ride in Varanasi to witness intense spiritual ceremonies.

We recommend that you coincide your trip with one of the many local colorful festivals and cultural events. Few places on earth that have the depth of impact on travelers as India.

An Optional Extension is recommended to visit Ranthambore National Park in search of Bengal Tigers.

RANTHAMBORE SAFARI

In Search of Bengal Tigers

3 Nights

Ranthambore has an impressive range of wildlife including tiger, sambar, axis deer, nilgai (blue bull), wild boar, sloth bear, hyena, sambar and leopard. The atmosphere is an area of stunning scenery with rocky hills, forest, grassy open fields and lakes. There are no guarantees to see the tigers, but the best time is February to April. During this time of year, temperatures begin to climb so tigers start to gather at watering holes.
